Concert #5

On Saturday I went to my FIFTH John Mayer concert - oh man it was soooo much fun!!!! I'm a HUGE fan, ever since my sophomore year of college. Room for Squares was a fantastic album. Heavier Things was more electric, and just as fabulous. I went out and purchased Continuum this afternoon, and I can tell it's going to be a new favorite! I just LOVE John!!

Not only was this our fifth concert (I've gone to all of them with my fabulous friend JDogg), but this was also the farthest away from home. We traveled three looong hours to Tinley Park, IL to catch the concert - along the way stopping in Schaumberg for my first shopping trip to IKEA. First we stopped at the huge mall across from it and grabbed some lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. Me in all my naivity, I assumed they only sold cheesecake there. How wrong was I. They had such a selection for lunch - and huge portions. I got the Meatloaf Sandwich (for some reason I saw it on the menu and just craved it) Delicious!!!
I could not, however, bring myself to spend $6 on a slice of cheesecake, so I passed on dessert (plus I was stuffed from the sandwich!)

We got slightly lost going to IKEA, but I blame the set up of the roads. There really is no good way of getting there, and JDogg says she's gotten lost every time she's gone (and she's been there like 5 times!)

As for the concert - John was with Sheryl Crow. I was shocked that John was closing act, but I suppose that makes the most sense since he is the one with the new CD and everything. He did a fantastic job, but did not say much about the Jessica Simpson debacle. He actually didn't engage in a lot of his usual banter, which was sad, but oh well. I am sure he will in his next concert we catch :) Here are some pics:
