Body Pump
So I've joined a gym, and have been attending Body Pump every Monday and Wednesday night. Body Pump is a fun weight lifting class to workout music. I usually enjoy it, and it's a great way to work out without it feeling like too much of a workout (cuz I hate working out!)
But seriously, what's up with the music choices?? Tonight we did our squats to some opera song with a pumped up background beat. Seriously, foreign opera music doesn't get me pumped up!!! Not at all! Tonights music selection wasn't the best, but I did get to do my curls to Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" - made me giggle.
One of my favorite Body Pump songs is Robert Palmer's 'Addicted to Love' - I know it's not a normal choice, but we do like half curls, and full curls to the beat, and the routine is actually quite fun.
Do you have any favorite workout songs for any of your classes? For your normal workout?
St Patricks Day
We went out last night to celebrate Shelly's birthday, as well as St Patricks Day.... which means, tons of green beer :) But I can tell I'm getting old, when by 11:30 I was ready to go home, when I used to not want to leave at bartime... what is the world coming to? I hit 24, and I can barely stay up past 11.... oh no!!!My little brother Tony came to visit me for the weekend too.... he has never come down for more than just a day trip for helping me move or something, so that was a lot of fun. Being from a small town, he surely got a culture shock from going out to the bars in Madison. Completely different world than Strum.... there is no country music on the sound system, and there are girls and guys out that are not in their 40s-50s. It's a crazy, college kid town.
Hopefully it hasn't scared him too much and he'll come back to see me again!!!Side note - got our tickets for the John Mayer roadtrip, and they are flippin sweet!!!! To toot my own horn, here's what's going on: **Milwaukee Ampitheater - SIXTH ROW BABY (in section 1, which is the left side, but it's still sixth row!!); **Virginia Beach - ROW C in Section 102 (there's a mini section two in front, but there can't be more than 20 rows, so I'm pumped about it -- this one is in the center so straight shot of the stage)**Charlotte NC - ROW T in Section 2. Another straight shot of the stage, with no mini section in front. MAN OH MAN I'M SOOOOO EXCITED :)And this weather is just absolutely gorgeous. And Vienna wants to spend more time outside. I'm such a nerd, I have a harness and leash for my kitty so she can enjoy the outside without getting lost (too much traffic to let her be free.... ) Now if only I can get her to do more than just roll around on the cement or eat the grass when we're outside.
Extremely Obsessive
So Jess and I decided after the last John Mayer concert that we were going to roadtrip and go all out for his next tour. Well, luck would have it that John has announced his SUMMER TOUR -- and we've decided to go see him in Virginia Beach (stopping in Washington DC on the way), and then hitting up the concert in Charlotte two days later, and making a stop in Louisville (cuz I guess Kentucky can be cool) on our way back to Wisconsin. We wanted to venture further away than Wisconsin for a concert, and we're going all out... VIRGINIA BEACH BABY (:And - just the other day, it was announced John Mayer is going to Summerfest.... well, can't pass up a concert that is about an hour away. So tally for the summer - THREE JOHN MAYER CONCERTS. Yes, I might have to go get checked out. This is getting a little out of hand. But I figure it's an excuse to go to a nice sunny beach and take time off of work. I am super excited. Presale tickets go on sale Friday - I'll let you know how cool our seats are :)Have you started planning your summer vacations? I'm definitely looking forward to warmer weather, Mallards and Brewers games, and movies on the Terrace. YAY FOR SUMMER :) ...now if it would only stop snowing!
